How to propose to your bridesmaids
They have been a part of all your greatest memories and now it’s time to make sure they don’t miss out on THE biggest day of your life! Asking your bridesmaids is a pretty big deal these days and therefore you should do it in a special and very creative way!
It’s very important to keep your bridesmaids’ personalities in mind when choosing your gift. Some will enjoy a card and some will prefer a bridesmaid themed gift. Others will enjoy a night out with the girls where you make some new memories. To help you, we have assembled a list of the most creative ideas for proposing to your squad.
This blog article features the wedding of Nicholaas & Jo-Mari Immelman who’s awesome photos were taken by Liz-Mari Marais Photography. Enjoy!
Bridesmaid pyjamas
There is nothing as special as a set of personalized nighties! This will remind your girls every single day how big a part they are of your life. Kimono’s are a big trend for the coming season and can be used on the day for your “getting ready” pictures as well.
A personalized bottle of champagne
Opening a bottle of bubbly is the classic way to celebrate any occasion. Therefore it’s perfect for celebrating your girls as well. Buy them a big bottle of the best champagne and attach a personalized “Will you be my bridesmaid?” tag. You can even pop it while you are busy doing wedding planning!
Hair ties
“Will you tie the knot with me?” This is the least expensive but also the most creative way to ask girls in your tribe. It’s important to remember not to spend too much of your wedding budget on bridesmaid gifts. Sometimes less is more.
A bridesmaid proposal box
You can put together a bridesmaid box in a variety of different ways. Foodie bridesmaids will appreciate a box with homemade rusks, cordials, and cookies, for example. Or you can create a pamper box containing facial masks, nail polish, hand cream, bubble bath, bath salts or other little treats.
A bridesmaid tote bag
If you have a nature lover as bridesmaid this will be a very good idea. Aren’t we all aware of the fact that we should be reducing our use of plastic? You can even personalize the bag with a monogram or names.
A spa treatment
There is nothing that says “I truly appreciate who you are” better than a spa treatment. You can take your girls to a tranquil place out of town and spoil them properly. Or you can do a DIY “Spa in a jar” for each bridesmaid and then organise a get together where you can treat each other at home.
A leather pouch printed with “bridesmaid”
This is the perfect gift for the stylish and practical bridesmaid. A pouch can be used every day. Just make sure to pick a natural or pastel colour. You can even print a personal message for them inside the pouch.
A dinner date
Last, but definitely not the least. Table time is very important with the people that you love. You can invite the ladies over and cook them a homemade meal or you can take them to a fancy restaurant for good food and good wine, or you can even have a picnic in your garden. This is also a brilliant way for all your girls to get to know each other before your big day!
It’s very important to really ask the ladies closest to your heart and the ones that are really invested in you and your groom’s relationship. In the end, they are going to help set the tone for your wedding day. They are going to help you plan and they are even going to help to hold your dress when you go to the bathroom.
Therefore make sure you choose wisely! And spoil them, they deserve it!
